Pompea and Mutua Cesare Pozzo team up for "Shoot The Cancer"

A snapshot that transforms the "after" into research...in support of the Veronesi Foundation

On the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8th in Milan, Shoot The Cancer is born, a project that combines photography, listening and solidarity to shine a spotlight on what too often remains invisible: the "aftermath" of a breast cancer diagnosis.

A suspended, intimate, and delicate time, beginning when the emergency lights go out and we enter a new phase of physical and emotional reconstruction, renewed awareness, and rebirth. It's the moment when we redefine our identity, priorities, and self-perception, navigating fragility and strength with equal courage.

Through photography and authentically listening to stories, the project aims to give voice to these experiences. A collective tale of resilience, transformation, and hope, it deserves to be shared with respect, authenticity, and intensity.

donate now to the Veronesi Foundation

A solidarity initiative that combines art and social commitment to concretely support breast cancer research, transforming culture into an act of care and collective responsibility.

Promoted by Pompea, the National Mutual Aid Society Cesare Pozzo ETS and its Women's Coordination , the project takes shape through a photographic exhibition and a collective charity auction , two central moments designed to actively involve the public and the community.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Veronesi Foundation, with the aim of actively supporting breast cancer research and contributing to advancements in treatment.

There's a story that rarely makes the cover:

The one that begins after treatment, after fear, after uncertainty. It's the moment when a woman looks in the mirror again and tries to recognize herself not just as a patient, but as a whole person, strong and fragile at the same time. Shoot The Cancer was created to give shape and voice to that moment.

Through photography, individual rebirth transforms into collective impact: awareness, prevention, and research. The photography direction is by Giovanni Peschi , with production by Pompea and Mutua Cesare Pozzo ETS. The shots don't seek perfection, but presence. They don't tell poses, but journeys. Photography thus becomes a language of beauty and truth, capable of restoring dignity and power to the story of rebirth, without rhetoric.

The photographs will be featured in a collective auction for both artistic and charitable purposes. All proceeds will go entirely to breast cancer research in support of the Veronesi Foundation. At the end of the event, the works will be donated to the women portrayed, as a tangible sign of a shared journey that restores value and recognition.

Also fundamental was the contribution of the Coordinamento Donne Mutua Cesare Pozzo , founded in 2017 to promote female participation and develop awareness-raising initiatives related to women's health and well-being.
